Meet the team
Kenny leads the overall strategic direction of WeFarm and oversees the day-to-day activities of the business. After graduating, Kenny spent seven years in Peru working for a development NGO, where he worked closely with indigenous communities. Kenny then played a lead role in developing and testing WeFarm when he joined CPF in 2009.
Kenny is a keen long-distance runner and has completed two marathons. He also loves to eat spicy foods and is known for sprinkling his lunches with a LOT of Cayenne Pepper…
Adam is WeFarm's CTO with two decades experience leading technical and product teams and applying practical approaches to solving complex business challenges. He has enjoyed multiple awards for some of the highly scalable, user centric services in e-commerce, healthcare and social network markets that he and his teams have created and now relishes the challenge of delivering cutting edge technology to WeFarm's users through low-tech devices.
In his spare time you'll find Adam cooking, oil painting and building Lego robots with his two young daughters.
Amy is responsible for developing strategic commercial partnerships and identifying and leveraging growth opportunities. Born and raised in France, Amy moved to London to complete her bachelor's degree at King’s College, then went on to work for the French Trade Commission in London.
Amy's interests include karate, horse riding, running and travelling, especially when it involves dancing with the locals. She is currently learning Spanish so she can explore more of South America soon.
Teresa oversees WeFarm operations in Africa and leads user acquisition amongst small-scale farmers. She is passionate about utilising ICT tools to improve the livelihoods of sub-saharan communities. Teresa comes from an agricultural background and she is also fluent in Swahili and French. Teresa has a bachelor’s degree in Education, and an MA in Conflict Resolution.
Outside of work Teresa enjoys travelling, dancing and spending time with young children.
Camilla is responsible for making sure that farmers love to use WeFarm. She helps to design excellent user experience, as well as events and other offerings for farmers. Camilla studied Drama at university and has experience working in international development.
Camilla is learning to speak Swahili in her free time and has already learned how to say the Kenyan WeFarm number - mbili-mbili-tatu-sufuri-moja!
Michaela provides additional support for everyone at WeFarm and coordinates the team. Michaela is a recent postgraduate in International Marketing and Entrepreneurship and is originally from Bulgaria. Outside of work, she enjoys a fast and dynamic routine, especially if it involves exercising and some time in the sun.
Michaela is a coffee, tea and cacao lover but if she had to choose a favourite it would have to be cacao - for all those delicious chocolates!
Njoki ensures WeFarm brings the best agricultural advice to our farmers, team and clients. She is a voice for the farmers within a growing tech startup. She brings agricultural expertise to the whole team to ensure WeFarm stays at the forefront of agricultural trends. Njoki is a recent graduate of Agriculture from Egerton University and is from a farming community.
During her free time she enjoys reading, baking and loves listening to music.
Justus is responsible for user growth, training and representing WeFarm in Ugandan communities. He studied Psychology at Makerere University. He later worked with an NGO in rural Western Uganda to help support needy children for a year and a half. Justus is deeply passionate about improving people’s livelihoods in African communities especially through farming.
He loves travelling and he spends much of his free time listening to Afro music.
Rob ensures that data-backed decisions and rigorous analysis are central to WeFarm’s operations. Rob has a PhD in Theoretical Biology from UCL, in which he developed mathematical models of biochemical systems. He is passionate about science communication and has even done stand-up comedy about his research!
Rob’s hobbies include visiting art galleries and museums, buying too many books, and playing the ukulele.
Ajit is WeFarm's Lead Developer. He has vast and diverse software development and delivery experience. He is passionate about learning new technologies and software development techniques.
Ajit is spiritually inclined and is in pursuit of mental peace and happiness. He regularly practices meditation.
Dorothea is Executive Coordinator at WeFarm, providing support for the Operations team and the CEO. After graduating with a degree in Modern Languages, Dorothea went to study as a Fellow in Social Innovation Management with the Amani Institute in Sao Paulo. She is passionate about promoting business as a force for good and social enterprise growth.
Dorothea is a travel addict and spends far too much of her free time planning adventures online, most of which she never gets to do in real life!
Roberto is a full-stack developer, focusing on scalable cloud solutions. He is passionate about new and cutting edge solutions and is an active participant of the London Meet-up community. He also has a Master's Degree in Computer Science Engineering.
Roberto is Italian, likes listening to Jazz and Latin music and loves pizza, chocolate and swing dancing. He is a passionate dreamer and travel addict, always trying meet new friends.
Mwinyi heads up user acquisition and marketing in Kenya. With a background in media, he works at the frontline to get WeFarm’s key messages in front of farmers across the country and users onto the platform. Mwinyi studied marketing at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa and has over a decade’s worth of experience working in communication and advertising.
When not happily getting lost in in a remote part of Kenya, Mwinyi enjoys disappearing behind a good book.
Fhiwa is responsible for overall user growth in Uganda. This involves leading a team responsible for bringing Ugandan farmers onto the WeFarm platform to share and obtain farming knowledge. Fhiwa most recently helped open and manage startup accelerator programs in London, Jerusalem, and Mexico City as Director, Global Operations for MassChallenge Inc.
He holds a B.A. in History from Bowdoin College and he is an avid traveller, runner, and eater. In his spare time, he enjoys writing, hiking, and discovering new music.
Radha is responsible for telling our story. She has loads of experience helping startups, governments, NGOs, prominent individuals, private companies and listed multinationals to become better communicators. Originally from the US, Radha has lived and worked in the UK, US, Sweden, India, Latin America and Africa and has degrees from Vassar and Columbia University.
In her spare time she enjoys adventures out with her husband and son, trips home to visit family and friends, TV watching on the internet and delicious food and drink.
Zani is responsible for WeFarm’s finance & accounting. She has specialised in helping to bring companies onto Cloud based accounting platforms and integrating finance processes into the wider business by conducting “accounting training for non-accounting people”.
Outside of work she enjoys dancing (especially when there are live
drums!), mixed martial arts at her local gym and can often be found debating philosophy & feminism with her husband.
